This year marks the 12th edition of the Auer Festival in Veszprém, held in honor of the world-renowned, Veszprém-born violinist and music pedagogue, Leopold Auer. The host Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra aims to bring leading figures of the international classical music scene—artists who perform in the world's most prestigious concert halls—to the picturesque, historic city of Veszprém.

Traditionally, the festival's orchestra-in-residence is the organizing Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra itself.
