Since childhood we have all loved soaring on wings of imagination into the enchanted realms of fairy‑tales. When those journeys are accompanied not only by words but also by the wondrous sounds of music—and by the colours and shapes of a painting created live on the spot—the experience becomes even more exhilarating.
Drawn from masterpieces by the greatest composers, this interactive programme invites its audience into a playful arena, a special musical story‑world whose very centre is the rich diversity of childhood feelings and fantasy.
Pianist Izabella Simon, a regular guest at the world’s most prestigious festivals and concert halls, has long considered working with the youngest listeners one of her most important callings.
“Every child is a ‘total artist’, for music, drawing, dance and stories are part of their everyday lives. That is why in each of my performances, built around a different tale, I create a world in which these same elements speak to them through the language of art—bringing the comfort of home into the concert hall and drawing them into an astonishing realm of magic where, through interaction, no dividing line remains between stage and audience.”
At this family‑focused concert she appears with her own family: her husband, Dénes Várjon, Kossuth‑Prize‑winning pianist; their daughter Liána Várjon; and one of their dearest artist‑friends, soprano Csilla Csővári.
